High-quality MS Billets (IS 2830 standard) are inspected and charged into the Reheating Furnace.
Hot billets pass through Roughing, Intermediate, and Finishing stands to reduce size progressively.
Rapid water cooling of the hot bar surface creates a hard "Martensite" outer layer while the core remains hot.
Heat flows from the hot core to the surface, tempering the Martensite layer to provide toughness.
Final cooling on the cooling bed transforms the soft core into a ductile Ferrite-Pearlite structure.
